“You Can’t Handle the Truth!”

This is the end, sorry it won’t be more eloquent but it is the end nonetheless. Ed Encho is now retiring from blogging, immediately and permanently. Times have changed and I have changed as well. After a pretty extended hiatus brought on primarily by health concerns led to my thinking a bit more and realizing that I was leaving the ‘left’ or what sad remnants of it. The left/progressive farce in this now fully functional corporate fascist society has done nothing but to enable the rot and I have gone on long enough now and have decided to leave this altogether. It was no one event, person, argument or relationship gone bad, it was just the whole accumulated weight of all of it. In ending a longtime collaboration with certain friends over the past week as well as disagreements over how to best move forward and reach new people using new technologies with others, I have just decided that this is just one big waste of fucking time. I have been involved in this for too long now and like the famous scene at the end of The Outlaw Josey Wales where Fletcher tells him that the war is over, well I reckon so.

Of course I am not the only one to decide this is basically no longer worth dealing with. There have been far more influential folks than my humble ass who have moved on out of frustration, notably the great Paul Craig Roberts who in his recent farewell to arms piece: Good-Bye: Truth Has Fallen and Taken Liberty With It summed it up perfectly:

There was a time when the pen was mightier than the sword. That was a time when people believed in truth and regarded truth as an independent power and not as an auxiliary for government, class, race, ideological, personal, or financial interest.

Today Americans are ruled by propaganda. Americans have little regard for truth, little access to it, and little ability to recognize it.

Truth is an unwelcome entity. It is disturbing. It is off limits. Those who speak it run the risk of being branded “anti-American,” “anti-semite” or “conspiracy theorist.”

Truth is an inconvenience for government and for the interest groups whose campaign contributions control government.

Truth is an inconvenience for prosecutors who want convictions, not the discovery of innocence or guilt.

Truth is inconvenient for ideologues.

Roberts’ lament rings as true as any in this rotting nation of sheep, TV lobotomized zombies, snake mean racists, Jesus juicers and willfully ignorant lemmings. There is zero desire to hear the truth and with the reflating of the latest economic bubble that only benefits the Wall Street looters, the ongoing demagoguery over the latest idiotic would be terrorist allowing for more and more police state powers and the complete failure of the American public to stop the endless state of war that is bankrupting us both morally and financially what is the point?

The worst being of course the perpetuating of the myth of 9/11 that changed everything forever, and it’s never coming back. Whatever remains of the 9/11 Truth Movement has been thoroughly infiltrated by disinformation agents and profiteers and the ‘left’ has ZERO nerve to do anything but try to recycle Bush and Cheney’s talking points for political gain. We hear highly paid shills for American fascism like Glenn Beck getting rich while conning millions to buy his products and ghost-written tripe pontificate about his ridiculous 9/12 movement that has spawned misled faux patriot groups and a huge Astroturf political arm of the criminal Republican party in the co-opted Tea Party Movement. All this while there is an abysmal failure of any rational counter force from the left or from antiwar groups about a 9/10 movement and in restoring our civil liberties to the day prior to the American Reichstag Fire.. It has always been 9/11 and thereafter and it will always be used to justify more war, torture, detentions without trial and now the ability to strip dissenting Americans of their citizenship, I could never imaging even Bush and Cheney being able to get away with pissing away taxpayer money on naked body scanners in airports from which TSA goons can ogle the private partes of prepubescent teenage girls and boys. There is NO opposition to any of this either from the Teabaggers or the champaign socialists on the fake ‘left’, at least none that is more effictive than a mosquito on a rhino’s ass. The most abysmal failure comes from the ‘left’ in their collective failure to articulate or offer any sort of alternative vision to counter to the well funded, organized American Gladio on the right. They are so intent on waging their petty cultural jihads, distorting the words of cranks and conducting political correctness purity purges to bother with either pragmatism or reality. To see people who once screamed for George W. Bush to be strung up by his balls (which he truly deserved) now become total apologists for the Obama administration and the vile continuation of the same policies just because it is their team in the White House makes me want to vomit. If something was wrong under Bush then it sure as hell is wrong under Obama and by definition every U.S. President is a war criminal so in not recognizing this and speaking out then they are all hypocrites of the worst type. Perhaps even worse than the hypocrisy is the general lack of any sort of a spine when it comes down to engagement with the enemy. The left of old, the labor left would have showed up at fascist Tea Party rallies enmasse and there would have been blood, today’s social issue driven left is content to tote an occasional sign around, sign up for MoveOn.org or send money to the corrupt Democratic Party. A good argument could be made than when the backs of the old left was busted first by McCarthyism, then by Reaganism and finally what was left whipped into acquiesence by the corporate DLC and when that was allowed it opened the door to the ongoing slide into the abyss, both politically and economically. I cannot denounce the ‘left’ strongly enough for being woefully ineffective, delusional and no help in staunching the bleeding. When the definitive history of the fall of the United States is written there will be a serious analysis of the role of the enabling ‘left’ in the implosion.

The truth about 9/11 will never be seriously challenged, the establishment won’t allow it to happen because no matter what the truth is the resulting police state, the power of controlling it and the exponentially growing surveillance and control systems is just too seductive to ever be reigned in. The United States of America is a failed state, choked with corruption, pollution and poverty – the rest of the world is ahead of the curve as civil unrest grows as essential services are cut to bail out the criminal scum, the politicians and the casino banks for destroying their economies. It isn’t going to get any better here either but we as Americans are too easily made to accept the unacceptable, for those who are angry there are controlled pressure valves like the Tea Party and the progressive blogosphere. There is lots of noise and clamor but nothing changes does it? Again, I excerpt from Paul Craig Roberts farewell piece:

These protections are called “entitlements” as if they are some sort of welfare that people have not paid for in payroll taxes all their working lives.

With over 21 per cent unemployment as measured by the methodology of 1980, with American jobs, GDP, and technology having been given to China and India, with war being Washington’s greatest commitment, with the dollar over-burdened with debt, with civil liberty sacrificed to the “war on terror,” the liberty and prosperity of the American people have been thrown into the trash bin of history.

The militarism of the U.S. and Israeli states, and Wall Street and corporate greed, will now run their course. As the pen is censored and its might extinguished, I am signing off.

Yes, the worst is coming. I have read my history and know all too well the signs of the rising tide of totalitarianism, the parallels between the present day U.S. of A and Weimar era Germany are astonishing, only here it is much, much more subtle but the ongoing economic collapse is setting the stage just perfectly for the real new Hitler, he or she just hasn’t emerged yet to capitalize on the seething resentment and desperation that our failed political system and woefully ignorant citizens have created. A prophetic and favorite warning of mine came from Earling Carothers ‘Jim’ Garrison, the only man to attempt to bring about a serious legal action over the assassination of President Kennedy:

“In a very real and terrifying sense, our Government is the CIA and the Pentagon, with Congress reduced to a debating society. Of course, you can’t spot this trend to fascism by casually looking around. You can’t look for such familiar signs as the swastika, because they won’t be there. We won’t build Dachaus and Auschwitzes; the clever manipulation of the mass media is creating a concentration camp of the mind that promises to be far more effective in keeping the populace in line.”

It was roughly forty years ago that Garrison uttered those words. Today, May 12, 2010 how can any reasonable person even attempt to deny the truth in that statement? It is the lack of those reasonable people that have now driven me to leave this behind as well. Life is too short to continue to expend considerable energy and waste considerable time in trying to make any sort of a meaningful difference – there is no desire to hear the truth and no sense of shared duty to transcend the petty differences that control what passes for discourse in this diseased country.

So now I take my leave, I have better things to do than to tilt at windmills with the rest of you and would strongly advise you all to think very seriously about how you want to spend your remaining days. Don’t fail to take into consideration that today is the best day of the rest of your lives, each day will be incrementally worse because of the abject failure to do anything to stop the war machine and the fascist state that provides the lynchpin for it.

So as I ride off into the sunset I offer a tip of my hat to my good friends, I want to especially note Diane and Gottlieb, Elian, Woody, Ed and Bob as those who I will miss most, your hearts were always in the right place and may you continue to fight the good fight despite our differences. To all of the others who I have worked with and who are of varying political affiliations, intellectual backgrounds and long term goals I salute your efforts as well. There are too many of you to name here and for the sake of brevity I won’t . The one thing in common is that I am proud of the time that we were able to work together and honored to have done so. As Reggie Hammond once famously remarked…”Y’all Be Cool”.

Crack Ho Economics

The sweet spike of the latest fix in the form of the trillion dollar Euro bailout has sent the rigged markets to the moon Alice with Monday’s 404 + point jump on the DJIA (Dick Jammed In Ass) although there are already indications that the buzz will be short-lived. The lies, propaganda and shilling to inflate this bailout bubble are losing their effectiveness as is evident by the news this morning that the optimism opium is already starting to wear off. That is, unless your name happens to be JP Morgan Chase or Goldman Sachs whose insiders in the Obama administration continue to ensure that the big wheel of the casino stays rigged and despite the mockery of the show inquisitions going on in Congress that the big kahunas on Wall Street will not only survive the economic crash but will come out bigger and more consolidated than ever. The looting spree goes on despite the fallacious jobs reports that show that the green shoots are turning into the proverbial beanstalks that can be scaled upwards into the clouds to realize the American Dream and the God kissed consumerism that is the crack cocaine to the average shmuck.

The Greek unrest that has been played down by the corporate American media intent on their fixation with who Tiger Woods is poking his weenie into this week or the latest bumbling idiot terror plot that fails miserably is going to spread. There is no bailout that is possible that is going to fix anything as long as the underlying problems do not get addressed, that is of course the financial weapons of mass destruction that are the derivatives. The global financial system has been completely destroyed out of nothing more complcated than good old greed and fraud, it’s just the insanely complicated credit default swaps, synthetic credit default swaps, structured investment vehicles and the rest of the basket of trickery that the snake oil peddlers have constructed to sell to the chumps. At the end of the day what is occurring is no different than the typical shell game or similar carnival style rigged games designed to appeal to the rubes, only this time the rubes number in the millions and sooner or later said rubes are going to finally realize that they have been duped by the gangsters that run their governments.

All hell is already breaking loose in Europe, of course Europeans are vastly more sophisticated than their American counterparts who are largely content to either take the latest hit off of the 50 inch Plasma glass dick and stay blissfully asleep or join up with the idiotic Tea Parties that are solely a construct of the same American looter capitalists (think Dick Armey, Newt Gingrich and the Kochs) and take to the streets enmasse – sooner or later this will evolve into Meskin’ bashing pogroms which is exactly what will trigger the police state measures to prevent any sort of real revolt. Americans live in a fairy tale world built upon comic book history and the buffoons of the Tea Party exemplify us in all of our selfish and willfully ignorant glory, in a true historical context the morons are out there raising cain in support of the British monarchy but any sort an attempt to reason with the dolts is as worthless as casting pearls before swine, but more on that later.

Anyway, the 1000 point plunge in the DJIA last Thursday that was blamed on a “fat finger” is just another example of the ability of the American masses of asses to gobble down the media produced bullshit biscuits and then beg for more. The Plunge Protection Team saved the day last week preventing a serious market correction and the Eurozone bailout package was hastily arranged over the weekend just in time for Monday’s opening of the Ponzi markets. Today it is already waning, there is no amount of money that can fix this fiasco. Europe is going to erupt into open revolt soon enough, America won’t but one sure bet in this era of irresponsible gambling is that there will be a false flag terror event that works that can be blamed on some swarthy Arab and that will provide cover for the looters, like when the phony terrorists blew the roof in Die Hard.

Alex Jones Pimps Phony Race War

Alex Jones, the proprietor of Infowars.com, a man who I have had serious reservations over for awhile now but due to the concept of finding an occasional diamond in a mountain of manure I have largely refrainied from critcizing is over the line. Mr. Jones, an influential online radio host, documentary producer and bombastic self-purported thruth sayer despite his failure to ever call out the Texas Oil Nazis, the Koch family, the Council For Foreign Policy or the John Birch Society on his syndicated show has now began to promote a dangerous meme. I speak of the ridiculous and inflammatory jihad against the Robert Rodriguez film Machete which the morons over at Infowars are calling out as an instigation for a race war. This is what happens when those that have been subjected to dehumanization, deligitimization and demagogy over a prolonged period like Hispanics finally counterattack. The brown menace has been the bread and butter for Jones and a large portion of his listeners for years now, it is painful to have to wade through the global warming denial, whacked out and tired conspiracy theories like flouride in the water, gun grabber paranoia and the incessant race baiting on Jones’s show to hear the guests who actually have something worth a damn to say yet are shut out of saying it anywhere else.

While I have in the past defended Jones and his affiliation with a long list of CNP contributors such as Doctor Stan Monteith despite serious reservations while taking holy hell from my former allies on the left, a bunch of in denial, politically correct and feckless toads who are in their own way every bit as bad as their more virulent right-winger counterparts. Michael Ruppert, author of Crossing the Rubicon and Collapse pegs the pathetic excuse for what passes as the American left as: “…the most delusional, ineffective, and compromised political worm ball I have ever experienced, past and present” in speaking as one who has now left it for good I find little to argue with Ruppert about. The caveat though is that there are a lot of decent, good intentioned people there who remain friends despite my disagreements with them. It is my hope and opinion that ideologues will one day be able set aside their preconceived notions of a perfect society where there is no hate, a world without war and a utopian communist rule by the workers (when all that communism is is just another group of thieves, sadists and perverts using the power of the state to steal and murder) and just realize that human nature is inherently bad and that there are one hell of a lot more bad people out there who will pick the meat from their bones in a second if it suits their own needs.

Alex Jones and his operation are now exposing themselves as the wolves roving amongst the sheep despite the ongoing falsehoods of waging war against tyranny and corruption and anyone who is a listener should boycott the program over this latest shrill rhetoric. We have very serious problems in this country today regarding real concerns about a rising tide of violence that has already thanks to the demagogues on the right become a cold civil war. Jones and his more refined and famous counterpart (who he is quite obviously jealous of) Glenn Beck have done their damned level best to create a climate of hatred, fear and animosity and using the constant race-baiting black propaganda to do it. Where did all of those obscene images of the infamous Obama Joker come from? The Alex Jones show, that’s where. And this farcical and ridiculous attempt to manufacture fake outrage to fool his audience into buying the reverse psychological bullshit of the race war that he and his ilk have spent years ginning up as typical lard-assed Texan troglodytes is as beyond the pale as it is ludicrous.

The Christian white majority that has ruled this country and presided over the rapid decline and strip mining of the economy that could never have occurred without their foul stupidity, their meanness, greed and inability to turn their backs on superstition and mass murder will soon be a minority. The coming demographic shift is imminent and irreversable and pigs like Jones and his ilk would rather have blood flowing in the streets than to simply accept the inevitable and try to work towards fighting against the real tyranny – corporatism and the military industrial complex and the unwinnable, bankrupting illegal wars of destruction. It is fitting though that the white man is getting eased out, at least it is more humane this time than when they slaughtered the original indigenous inhabitants of what would come to be known as The Homeland.

The Wrong Mexican to Fuck With

Here is the new bootleg video for Robert Rodriguez’s Machete that has the right wing filth having shit hemmorhages today. Scored from this website – be forewarned the Memory Hole attendants at YouTube are flushing this wonderful little piece of film away by the second. On the heels of the Phoenix Suns brilliant in your face rebuke of Arizona’s new Naziesque ‘show your papers’ abomination of a law by showing up for last night’s NBA playoff game in LOS SUNS uniforms this is bound to send a shiver up the deformed spines of the chickenhawk phony patriots and the GOP co-opted scumbagger movement. Intersting concept for a change, let the REAL Americans start to take the fight to the fascist pigs on the right, nice to see that is finally beginning to dawn on many that the only way to deal with fascists is to destroy them.

The trailer actually came from the Rodriguez-Tarantino flick Grindhouse which was a mixed bag, Planet Terror was great but Death Proof was slow moving and a bit long although Kurt Russell’s character was outstanding, the soundtrack and the carchase was awesome but the best part of the entire thing was the Machete trailer at the beginning. Nice to see this finally being made into a full length movie and pushing back against the racist filth. Arizona is a bone dry shithole full of cactus plants, rattlesnakes crazy ass right wingers (not that there is much of a difference) and a lot of interesting rock formations but the politics are only slightly to the left of Hitler. It would be nice to see Machete going after the cowardly charlatan John McCain who made propaganda videos for the communists during Nam or Sheriff Joe Arpaio…sooner or later all of them will pick the wrong Mexican to fuck with.

The American fascist right, the scumbaggers and their ilk were even enough to make Barry Goldwater want to puke as he was revulsed at the mutation of conservatism that was birthed during the Reagan years.

Bravo Los Suns

The sound of puckering assholes among the fascist filth that is the rabid American right brings to mind Ross Perot’s famous quote about a giant sucking sound. The scumbaggers and their GOP bund buddies are shrieking foul over the NBA’s Phoenix Suns doing the unthinkable for a sports team – making a political statement. In flipping the bird to their Arizona fanbase of cranks, losers and racist nutjobs who worship Sheriff Joe Arpaio as though he is the second coming of Jesus Fucking Christ only imbued with the full power of the rising American police state the Suns wore orange uniforms with the team name “LOS SUNS” across the front. Now this is ballsy in the rapidly closing society that used to be the United States of America post the 9/11 false flag attacks that turned us into a poverty ridden sewer of fear, loathing and stupidity.

I am sure that gasbag Rush Limbaugh, the shameless multi-millionaire moon-faced demagogue Glenn Beck and the scatterbrained but worshipped by a cult of millions of morons Sarah Palin will be railing at the traitors who dared to defile sports by going native. Not that any of the garden variety scum who will be screaming for their fifth columnist champion Joe Lieberman to hurry the fuck up and pass his filthy Naziesque bill to strip Americans of their citizenship so that LOS SUNS can be rounded up en-masse and packed off to the torture chambers at Gitmo. The pill-popping poobah of propaganda who may purportedly have talent on loan from God but can’t get an erection without pharmaceutical assistance will likely remind his legions of angry white losers that they already have the orange suits. As for the NBA, it’s not exactly popular among the nativists that fill the reich-wing anyway, as my old co-worker Stick once said “It’s full of goddamned niggers”.

The blazing hatred directed at Los Suns today over their daring political statement is really more than a bit hypocritical (a right wing standard) given that all of those pigs never seem to have a problem when the shit-salesmen on FOX’s NFL pregame show like the idiotic Terry Bradshaw and his ilk get to dress up like toy soldiers in their cammies and move their set to Afghanistan to promote the war. None of the armchair ‘patriots’ ever have a problem with the regular wasting of taxpayer dollars on the standard flyovers of NFL games nor to they do anything other than stand up and salute their beloved 50 inch plasma screens when General David Petraeus goose steps out in full dress uniform to flip the coin at the Super Bowl. That’s because those are all symbols of the white man with his bloated military kicking the living shit out of the ragheads, skinnies, sand niggers or gooks. White supremacy is what this is all about and sweet Jesus it is just downright un-American to not worship our imperialist military. The dastardly slander against Los Suns has already started, when I did a Google search of Steve Nash, one of the Suns players the first thing that popped up was some Tom denouncing him as an “overrated Canadian point guard” for daring not to bow down to Governor Jan Brewer’s institutionalized racism – the meme is going to be hot today, that much is predictable.

Not that you would know it by the corporate cowardice of the new American century, the iconic Michael Jordan once famously remarked “Republicans buy shoes too” but there is a long and rich history of sports and politics and the fight for social justice. There was the Muhammad Ali of old, denouncing racism and the Vietnam war, Roberto Clemente, Jackie Robinson, Paul Robeson, Dave Meggyesy and who knows what sort of stories that Pat Tillman would have told if he were allowed to return from Bush and Cheney’s illegal wars were he not murdered by his own troops, very likely on orders to silence a poster boy gone off the reservation. All of the stories of those who used sports for principled stands against the oppressive machine are untold, Americans would rather worship the crucifixion and resurrection of a freak like Tiger Woods than bother to read up on those with principles. For those who would, I would recommend the work of the outstanding Dave Zirin, his website is Edge of Sports and he has written three outstanding books on sports and social justice: What’s My Name Fool?, Welcome to the Terrordome and A People’s History of Sports in the United States.

Steve Nash and his team did more last night than beat the San Antonio Spurs and won a game, they won over the hearts of the silenced majority, those of us who have had a bellyful of the vicious racism and foaming at the mouth hatred of progress and diversity that is exemplified in the teabagger movement and the payrolled swine who goad it on. The anti-intellectualism that is championed by the Sarah Palin worshipping freaks in this country brings to mind the sort of fervor that drove the Khmer Rouge when they took over in Cambodia and implemented their Year Zero program of social change. They struck a blow for freedom of thought, inclusiveness and fairness and now are going to catch hell over it, with any justice though they just may emerge as America’s Team. And why doesn’t the teabagger filth just get the fuck out of MY country if they hate it so much? That is a question that more decent Americans should start to ask and ask LOUDLY.

So Viva Los Suns, in a land of cowardice, conformity and apathy your principled statement is one to be cherished and an inspiration to all who aren’t down with the creeping fascism that has for too long now suffocated our spirits and allowed the assclowns like the teabaggers and dittoheads to control the discourse. What would be truly inspiring would to see the Los Suns jerseys start to outsell those of theocratic Manchurian Candidate and new Denver Broncos third string QB Tim Tebow when it comes to sports merchandise. Now that would be a real sign of progress.

Another Fine Day in the Land of Fear

Another day in the kingdom of fear, the land of the lemmings and the trap continues to close, largely unnoticed by the too busy to care inhabitants. The average American attention span these days is something short of that of a gnat and there is always more celebrity to suckle, tainted sports heroes to cheer upon and reality television shows through which one can live vicariously. If ignorance, as has been said is truly bliss then the population of Der Heimat are the most blissful bitches and bastards on the planet – just like the cattle milling about at the entrance to the steel chute. In playing their true role as guardians against democracy, the pocket media mockingbirds are in full-throated roar as they in unison electronically bludgeon the American sheeple into a quivering pulp over the latest and greatest terror attack that wasn’t.

The thing that both horrifies and amazes me is just how easily that the Obama administration has co-opted the rhetoric of the Bushreich in ratcheting up the dread and feeding the panic monster. Faisal Shahzad, the latest addition to the 21st century pantheon of non-Christian bogeymen is being portrayed as a sinister deep cover saboteur, another tentacle of the global Islamic hydra that hates us for our way of life (as if being mean, obese, willfully ignorant debt slaves electronically lobotomized by our beloved televisions is anything to fight to preserve) and sweet Jesus we were lucky that the amateurish car bomb in Times Square didn’t detonate. Of course this is just more of the same bullshit that has been mainlined into our national carcass like the sweet spike of a heroin fix of fear since the day that the American Reichstag fire, that holiest of holy days that was September 11, 2001 punched our national ticket towards our rendezvous with destiny and the stamp of infamy that will only be fully appreciated with history.

This guy was a boob, a bumbler, a piker and a loser. He was just another underwear or shoe bomber, a phony threat of what could have been were there actual terrorists that serves as grist for the propaganda mills that ensure that the two minute hate remains a truly American institution. Hell, just the construction of the bomb should tell any halfway astute inhabitant of this childlike alternate universe that this is another manufactured incident. Any serious terrorist posessing a semblance of skill and integrety would have packed that fucking vehicle with semtex or some other military grade explosive, hundreds of pounds of poison-dipped nails, nuts and screws for shrapnel and a maximum casualty count and used a real detonator instead of some cheap shit made in China alarm clock bought off the shelf at the local Wal-Mart. Long a tool of the neocons and their PNAC/Clean Break doctrine for global dominance as well as one of the most vile political figures EVER produced by the American system Gingrich is pulling out every dirty trick, lie and preposterous piece of folderol from his lard-assed academic carcass. The plan to destroy Obama by using the teabaggers as shock troops to take down the loathsomely inadequate health care reform in a variation of what he was able to do to the Clintons back in 94 went up like a flaming bag of dogshit in his meaty paws and as for DRILL BABY DRILL…with a looming environmental catastrophe heading right for the U.S. gulf coast well, that hasn’t turned out too well either for the philandering little fascist dwarf. Gingrich will surely be chiming in with his declarations of treasonous atheist commies like Obama and his ilk turning the country over to the ‘terrorists’ despite the fact that they are so fucking incompetent that they couldn’t blow their noses much less bombs that go off as advertised.
