Of Hucksters and Hayseeds: GOP Trolls for Rubes in Iowa

The traveling cavalcade of clowns that is the Republican primary season kicks off with the Iowa caucuses this week. As if that haven of corn-fed schmucks is representative of the nation as a whole yet in our sham of a political system this somehow passes for a legitimate process. The entire gaggle of swine have been working the hustings and to add further insult the next step to the coronation of their prospective Führer the equally unrepresentative state of New Hampshire is next. This is serious corn pone along the lines of cheesy 1960’s sitcom Green Acres with all of the hayseeds like the Kimballs and the Haneys rolling into town in their Sunday finery to cast their lot with the one seriously deranged GOP jackass that truly represents them. I do find that Newton Leroy Gingrich has more than a passing resemblance to Arnold Ziffel. Iowans are just more refined versions of the red state fascist peckerwoods down yonder behind the cornbread curtain, hicks and rubes are hicks rubes no matter what neck of the woods that they may hail from. 

Now I am sure that Iowa is a nice place and there is much to see and do there (ha ha ha), thanks to deranged Republican candidate Michelle Bachmann it was pointed out that notorious serial murderer John Wayne Gacy began his illicit activities in Waterloo, a neighbor to Cedar Falls. Famous Iowans include Marion Morrison (the other John Wayne), Herbert Hoover (how apropos), Johnny Carson, Buffalo Bill and a true American hero in former FDR Vice President Henry A. Wallace who certainly knew a fascist when he saw one and must be rolling over in his grave over the GOP invasion. Other famous Iowans resonate greatly with the one true demographic that the Republicans routinely target, the geriatric Fox News viewers whose Cold War and anti-hippie, homophobic and predominantly white worldview easily accommodates such nonsensical horseshit as the Obama is a secret commie Muslim scam. Get a load of some of these names and see if you can find any sort of discernible pattern here:

According to the 2010 Census Iowa is a whopping 91 percent white, 14.9 percent over 65 years of age and at with a population that is just a tad above 3 million represents less than one percent of the population of the nation as a whole. To sum it all up it is idiotic for the corporate media and the thoroughly corrupt political establishment to tout Iowa as some great representation of the entire United States. As Abe Lincoln once famously remarked:  

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” 

It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that it’s one hell of a lot easier to fool a very small, predominately white and chock a block with famous 1950s-1960s television icons as the greatest former residents slice of the demographic pie like the cornshuckers in the Hawkeye State than the more sophisticated city slickers who have a better knack at spotting flim flam men. So the legend of Iowa as the great American weathervane ranks right up there with all of the other big lies of our times like the phony war on terror, the greatness of the American capitalist system and Tim Tebow as a legitimate starting NFL quarterback (he isn’t fit to carry the jockstrap of former Iowan Kurt Warner, himself a Jesus freak albeit a more humble one) and the increasingly creeping fascist police state apparatus as some sort of benevolent protector. Iowa brings to mind the great and underrated movie Pleasantville where the black and white 1950’s style of television show utopia is forever changed by two modern day teenagers who have been magically teleported into a sitcom by a TV repairman/ sorcerer played by Don Knotts and proceed to change the place for the better.

Pleasantville is a perfect metaphor for the conservative nonsense that is peddled by the traveling shit salespeople of the Republican party, their entire schtick falls apart if they can’t sell their silly non-reality based nostalgic gimmickry harkening back to a simpler and more moral time. The kids in the movie turn the black and white naivete and innocence into a stunning world of color and the hated nuance by introducing art, sex and non-conformity and rapidly run afoul of the town honchos who unleash the typical conservative reaction of violence, intimidation, hatred and rigged legal proceedings to stop the transformation. The “there are no roads out of Pleasantville” type of mentality that has allowed for the permeation of the poisonous disease carried by the Republicans that has for decades eaten our society from within. The world is a vastly more complicated, rapidly changing and thanks to new technologies interconnected environment and the changes represent a mortal threat to the white picket fence style of Americana that was mainlined into the consciousness of generations thanks to television, the most potent drug of them all. The Republicans are able to tap into this Pleasantville mind warp and to blame all of the real perceived evils of those chaotic decades of the 1960s and 1970s on those who would choose to live in a world of color and nuance rather than be mired like dinosaurs in a black and white tarpit, braying and keening as they are sucked under. The civil rights movement, equal rights for women, the Vietnam war, sexual liberation, Watergate, the hippies and drugs and rock and roll music really put a serious mindfucking on a lot of folks and they are desperate to cast their lot with whatever silver-tongued devil riding in on a white horse to rescue them from the savages best appeals to their longing for the past.

 

Republicans Troll For Rubes In The Hawkeye State

The entire fraudulent Republican bill of goods is designed to appeal to the suckers who can’t deal with social change. Their followers have rejected any form of progress of the past half century. They cling to their false idols like John Wayne and Ronald Reagan, both of whom are invoked constantly by the cynical and dishonest sheep herders trolling through the teenubg metropolises of Des Moines, Dubuque, Davenport and Waterloo as well as the outlying burgs like Battle Creek, Fort Dodge, Hawkeye and even Pleasantville (population 1,694 according to the 2010 census) as they sell peddle their lies. The lunatic Rick Santorum has found that his snake oil sells far better in Iowa and the man who once brought a dead fetus home to his wife is basking in the national media attention, he has visited all 99 counties and as of last week had conducted nearly 400 town halls and has taken to wearing a sweater vest as a costume. There was much made over the pilgrimages to the Evangelical Christian fast food franchise Pizza Ranch, a western themed restaurant that serves up greasy, cheesy pies along with bible based nonsense, the chains’ motto is PizzaRanchServes. In combining two of the most irrational aspects of modern conservative thinking being the revisionist version of history as filtered through John Wayne’s undershorts and the weaponized form of modern American Christianity (Billy Sunday also hailed from Iowa) Pizza Ranch is a slam dunk with the deniers and haters of the base. Moonbat Michelle Bachmann who gained attention for performing simulated fellatio on a foot long corndog at the Iowa State Fair last summer reportedly visited 14 pizza ranches in one week, Santorum’s kids it has been said are sick of pizza by now and even Ron Paul is holding sessions at the chain. It’s more than a bit ironic that Herman Cain, who made quite a name for himself in the pizza business before his proclivity to serve up the pepperoni to women other than his wife has dropped out and isn’t able to hit the cheese and sausage circuit. One of the more frequent pizza parlor visitors is of course Newton Leroy Gingrich, he didn’t after all get more chins than a Chinese phone book by hitting the salad bar. I don’t suppose that the pizza chain Cheesus Crust from the otherwise lamentable movie My Best Friend’s Girl will be opening any franchises in Iowa in the near future.

And so it begins, the New Years hangovers haven’t completely dissipated and the real onslaught is beginning in earnest. The sick joke of the national media swarms like flies to a fresh dungpile in Iowa, a thoroughly appropriate metaphor for the Republican candidates (Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman excepted) and the flies will soon migrate north to New Hampshire and other locales as the carnival of perversion, a moveable feast of bullshit that is the fascist Republican party primary season. This is going to be the greatest show on earth as well as a glittering showcase of all that has gone so terribly wrong and ugly in America today until the entire kit and kaboodle roars into Tampa come August for the largest gathering of Nazis, degenerates and stone cold freaks since the Nuremberg rallies of 1933.

Allen West: Tea House Negro

You have to give it to the Republican hijacking of the Tea Party Movement, from an original pro-American, pro-civil liberties, anti-interventionist grass roots uprising that coalesced around Ron Paul and the libertarian vision for America…they have their bases masterfully covered. When that greasy little pig Rick Santelli, a CNBC Republican shill went into a carefully choreographed rant against the evil black Muslim devil Obama back in early 2009 it activated an American Gladio style network of right-wing dead-enders, the dregs of Karl Rove’s GOP base and gravy trainers looking to hitch a ride on the war wagon. You have to give it to Allen West when it comes to shameless, self-centered, stars-in-the-eyes cynical opportunism that puts even Sarah Palin to shame, the rising star and one of the few blacks admitted into the carnival of perversion of the GOP big tent this is one motherfucker that has the act down, a real Uncle Tom cum flag-wrapped Uncle Sam and as the Reggie Hammond once remarked…””You know what I am? I’m your worst fucken’ nightmare, man. I’m a nigger with a badge, that mean I got permission to kick your fuckin’ ass”!!!!

West has become the blackfaced minstrel of the Tea Party freak show, a tough as nails Iraq war veteran who meshes nicely with the 2012 strategy of turning American Muslims into the Juden of the 21st century here in Der Heimat. West earned points when during a February town hall meeting he responded to a question about just were in the Quran showing where Muslims were formally mandated by Allah “to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people.” West, in typical GOP Nazi defense mode did not answer the question but rather snarled “don’t try to blow sunshine up my butt”, Christ forbid that anything might dislodge the stick that is embedded there. West, not a minority who would be bothered by the vagaries of not calling the kettle black mocked fellow House member Keith Ellison, the Muslim from Minnesota as one who is “the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established.” West, like all Republicans seems to be a bit fuzzy on the actual historical details and conveniently ignores slavery as one of those founding principles. It’s all talking points to these moronic miscreants though, after all, it’s not like the low hanging fruit of the GOP base that has been magically rebranded as the suddenly patriotic and anti-government (hands off my Medicare and Social Security you fucking Socialists!) Tea Party.

The Tea Party, as I have repeatedly emphasized is as phony as Allen West and thanks to legions of low information voters and a corrupt corporate media that has turned the Dick Armey of Darkness into some sort of faux populist insurgency it has been a masterful snow job…not that it takes much at all to fool the average, trembling with fear, American sheep these days. The original Tea Party was began in the waning days of the Bush administration and counter to the new narrative was actually against costly foreign wars (even against those damned dirty sand nigger Muslims who hate us for our freedom), was against the parasitic tool of the finance oligarchs that is the Federal Reserve and in a real contradiction to the current Palinazi version was PRO CIVIL LIBERTIES not obsessed with using the law to strip a demonized minority group of their rights and to torture the hell out of anyone who dares to complain. That’s the thing with the authoritarian minded, jackbooted jellyfish of the now thoroughly hijacked and rotten to the core Tea Party, they absolutely love their sadism and when that sadism is sado-sexual, well it just tickles their fancy all the more. Look at Abu Ghraib prison, the entire Tea Party movement and their token toadies like West are ALL peckerwood princess Lynndie Englund dragging dirty nasty nekkid Muslim men around on a leash, or demented good ole boy Charles Graner kicking the living shit out of those gut-dammed A-rabs.

Allen West has recently toured the shrine of worship for the new Republican reich that is Guantanamo Bay, a heinous blight on what America used to be back in the days before the Neocon’s “New Pearl Harbor”. In another of the broken promises that multiply like little white trash redneck babies in some Alabama trailer park, the feckless wonder Barack Obama reneged on his campaign promise to close the house of horrors. Of course that is NEVER going to happen, Gitmo is so symbolic of the new era of American fascism that it’s only a matter of time until it replaces the U.S. Treasury on the back of currency notes. It was a fitting stage on which a preening pig like West could strut across that filthy home of brutality, human experimentation and the cruelest sort of advanced torture attacks that put Hitler and Stalin’s goons seem like rank amateurs. On his return from the anti-American hellhole of legal limbo for those damned dirty brown skinned devils (and soon the white al Qaeda liberals, gays and other dissenters who will inevitably take up residence there) West gave his blessing and even boasted of seeing  “one very popular individual” (no mention was given of whether he then retreated into a private area and masturbated) which will surely make him an even bigger hero to the dregs of American society that populate the Tea Party.

That Allen West holds office in Florida, the diseased penis of America is only natural. This state is a low wage haven for carpetbaggers, greed heads on the lam seeking to take advantage of the generous homestead law protecting their mansions, religious fanatics, hot-headed Cuban itching to support a Republican Bay of Pigs II against the hated Castro, stone-crazy freaks, hardened racists and charlatans looking to get into the business of politics. It is a state that recently elected as Governor (under the Tea Party banner of course) a ghoulish, skin-headed flim-flam man named Rick Scott who while running Columbia/HCA was a part of the largest Medicare fraud in U.S. History. Scott, who left HCA engulfed in a plague of scandal used his personal fortune to run some of the dirtiest ads in Florida campaign history, some accounts say as much as $78 million and to laughably sell himself as some sort of outsider whose ace corporate management skills and experience would make him a natural to restore the rapidly setting Sunshine State to some of it’s former glory and bring in JOBS JOBS JOBS!. Scott did bring JOBS, snow jobs and blow jobs and in his capacity of the big time CEO and his no-nonsense approach to state business promptly told that dirty, birth certificate challenged black man in the WHITE House to stick a 2.4 billion grant for high-speed rail up his Muslim asshole. That really created jobs alright, likely in California or any of the other states who are lined up for the money now that Scott has shown that he is all about business…HIS business and the business of right wing sugar daddies like the Koch Brothers.

Florida is an ugly place right now, with obvious charlatans like West and Scott being the high-profile reps while the opportunistic little Jeb Bush protege Senator Marco Rubio wisely lays low, likely laughing his slimy little back-waxed ass off at how easy it was to hornswoggle the scumbaggers into punching his ticket, the right-wing fascist nonsense is only beginning, now we have some peckerwood legislators pushing to have a law passed that would ban Sharia law, the newest model of the bogeyman and slam dunk vote getter to roll off of the Neocon propaganda shop production line. It all meshes very nicely with the ongoing campaign to use Muslims as some sort of national scapegoat for all of the misery that the Republican doomsday machine has wrought (a good deal of credit goes to their Democratic collaborators too) as America descends into a shit pool of a banana republic third world dictatorship. One giant plantation/gulag with a hardened perimeter of Tea Party thugs to guard the massah’s quarters, and Allen West has certainly earned his place within.

Now late August in his month of blistering hatred, Ted Kennedy goes in the ground tomorrow, by Sunday the Blue Dogs will be lining up to piss on his grave. The vicious offensive by Astroturf groups that was spliced together with neo Confederates, white supremacists, domestic terrorists like Randall Terry and full blown American Nazis on health care town hall meetings has been an astounding success in driving a spike through any meaningful sort of health care reform. The deals have been cut, the propagandists have earned every penny of their millions for serving as a protection racket for the elite, the public option is dead and the entire sordid mess is soon to be administered last rites. It’s been a month of foulness that hangs heavy in the air, you can breath it in, smell the growing anger, the hate is so thick that it seeps into your pores. Soylent Green is made out of grandma, death panels, eugenics, Stalinism in stars and stripes, they are going to abort the babies and Obama will enslave the white race in labor camps where they will work to pay slave reparations. Were Herr Hitler and Herr Goebbels alive today they would marvel at how much more sophisticated and refined that their model has evolved and developed, God and Glenn Beck willing there will soon be pogroms in the streets, blood in the gutters and then librul huntin’ season will be announced from on high by that doped up and batshit crazy fat man in the EIB Network bunker who brags about having talent on loan from the almighty yet who can’t get an erection without pharmaceutical assistance.

When the definitive account of the decline and fall of the American civilization is one day put together by a future historian it will no doubt include much on how a large segment of a country was driven mad by a decades long saturation bombing of fascist indoctrination and swill peddled by Republican party operatives and hate mongers who were able to convince a certain authority worshipping demographic block to foreswear their own economic self-interests and become shock troops for a corrupt and amoral overclass. The values of propaganda and mind control to socially engineer the masses really gained traction with the ideas of Edward Bernays, the overly ambitious nephew of Sigmund Freud who curried favor with the looter class and became their most influential mind molder. I would refer readers to Adam Curtis’ excellent documentary for the BBC The Century of the Self, and please pass it around. Bernays would go on to be a very good teacher of the technique to none other than Joseph Goebbels who was a huge fan and a model as were many early industrialists and eugenicists to the various leaders of the Nazi regime however that is a story for another time. The control of the American mind was critical for the long slouch into outright fascism and nobody did it better than those who demonized the communists in order to terrorize the populace into support for the illegal wars of conquest and imperialism.

With the end of WW II presenting a great opportunity for the hated New Deal programs of the class traitor Roosevelt the CIA was formed as the enforcement arm of Wall Street and would engage in secret wars both abroad and at home against the very concept of a liberal, egalitarian and just society. The efforts would result in the smashing of the real American left under the jackboot of McCarthyism and the nurturing of a mean spirited, exceptionalist, white nationalist creed as embodied by John Wayne, Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan and which would one day metastasize into the culture of right-wing sewage that has 2009 America on the brink of a hot civil war. I am not going to go into the history of all of this now as I choose to leave it for another day, the only intention of my even mentioning it was for context. The level of hostility, racism, gay baiting, red baiting and insurrection pimping has reached an apex during this August as a result of the health care town hall invasions by outraged mobs, many of the attackers are the same detestable losers who flocked to Sarah Palin rallies last fall to call for Barack Obama’s assassination and rail against his secret Muslim background and purported plan to grab the guns and annihilate the white race.

But I digress…

Nowhere have the swine on the right been more vindictive than in manufacturing phantoms, in distorting reality and filtering it through their fully owned media prism to discredit the feckless opposition, the Vichy Democrats of Harry Reid who now no longer has to defend his failure to get anything done with a 60 seat majority now that Ted Kennedy is dead. Awash in the electronic vomit of the last few days when every cowardly fascist bitch and bastard has been flogging the corpse of the last Kennedy brother is a very sleazy little psyop, the exact type that these pigs are notable for. Earlier this week, the office of the Colorado Democratic Party headquarters in Denver was vandalized and certain elements of the liberal and progressive community onine were too quick (this time anyway) in shooting from the hip and blaming it on right-wing animals of the sort who have been raging across the country ala the Sturmabteilung. Not that similar acts aren’t the fault of the Republican brownshirts (note the defacement of this sign by vandals and any good cop knows that whenever a crime occurs that the first place to look for the perp is with the usual suspects) but this time the bloggers and others were wrong. Dead wrong and the well oiled machine that is the fascist fifth column was ready to pounce and declare it a false flag operation undertaken by the left to discredit their goon squads….as if there were any honor amongst those assclowns.

The putrid belching of right-wing outrage over the recent vandalizing of the Denver Democratic Party headquarters is stunning in both its mendacity and organization, you see, nobody plays the outraged victim card better than the fascist Republicans. There are no bigger tyrants when they are in power and no bigger crybabies when they are not, the entire movement is nothing more than a cacaphony of contrived grievances against a sweeping liberal conspiracy that does not now and never has existed. It was of absolutely no help though then that progressives were quick to label the breaking of the windows as another escalation of right-wing mayhem, one radio host Bob Kincaid even went so far as to invoke Kristallnacht.

Not that this sort of action in the climate that has been created by a party that long ago ceased to represent America and embraced a new fascism didn’t have tea baggers and town hall terrorists written all over it but the facts must be considered no matter that a pattern is repeated. To Kincaid’s credit he fully understands the dangerous nature of the foul shock troops of corporate America, he is an activist in the hot zone fighting the battle against mountaintop removal and this video is indicative of the sort of meanness that can be conjured up when moneyed interests are threatened. But this time he and the others were wrong and the full force of the fascists was ready to pounce and to seize the day to invoke their own bogeymen and phantoms of the mythical far left, just like they did in Seattle during the WTO protests back in ’99. The truth is that anything even remotely to the left of the right-center must be destroyed and destroyed with extreme prejudice.

The vandalism of the Denver Democrat office as it turns out was allegedly done by a transgender activist who blogs under the name Ariel Attack and who happened to work on helping to get Democrats elected back during the election. Now I do not know this particular activist, I had never even heard of her until this shitstorm in a teapot was whipped up by the GOP operatives so I am not going to attempt to speculate on motives (especially since this has not been decided in a court of law as to whether Ariel Attack even did it) other than to note that the LGBT community has a right to be angry over the betrayal by the Obama administration, a long slow stab in the back that began when that filthy, bigoted pig of a false prophet Rick Warren was invited to give the invocation during Obama’s coronation. That sort of thing really is a slap in the face to a group whose support was instumental until they were discarded.

As one who has been a member of the antiwar movement I totally understand being sold out by Democrats and there is a growing unrest out there that the Obama White House is desperately trying to quash lest a full blown revolt of the base occur. On reading this story I must say that some of the comments from the virulent rats on the right on what Ariel Attack is going to face in jail – especially rape and their masturbatory glee at transcribing their sick fantasies makes me disgusted to be an American. In this society it has become acceptable that our overfilled, for profit prison gulags have rape rooms every bit the equal of the big bad Saddam’s and our national obsession with punishment and torture are shameful in a civilized society. As Dostoyevsky once wrote “The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons” and we live in a land were brutality, rape and institutionalized sadism are the standards.

Of course the pigman weighed in with his offering to dittohead dope addicts on the so called false flag, mocking Ariel Attack: “Now, I don’t know if this was an addadictomy transgender or a chopadickoffamy transgender”. I must admit that I find the Republican, Birther, Deather, Teabagger, dead ender obsession with dicks to be rather mystifying in that their hatred of gays, lesbians and transgender Americans is so strident as to influence others to commit acts of violence (like Matthew Sheppard’s sadistic killers), dare I say that it’s positively Freudian and there are actual studies that back me up. The strange fascination over penises with male Republicans has taken a bizarre turn into the land of the Mad Hatter’s mushroom tea party as of late with this sordid little story that screams of the dangers of repressed homosexuality on the subconscious of the average American hate filled Birther courtesy of David Neiwert:

hoosiermama: The only other thing that hit me was that Sinclair said BO was not circumcised. When my son was born in a hospital that was done as a matter of routine without even consulting us. Would the same be for Hawaii? OTOH People born at home or in some other cultures are not circumcised.

We had to go back to the doctor’s office to have it done a week later, and the doctor was NOT HAPPY. My second son was born in the same hospital 4 years later. I don’t remember them asking me about it. Routine procedure for little boys.

Oh My Fucking God….Clinton’s Penis: The Sequel!

I am sure that everyone remembers the days of the great Ken Starr blowjob inquisition when the the ultimate goal of the freaks was NOT to impeach and remove Clinton but to get him to drop trou in court and show Mr. Wiggley because after all, the unimpeachable testimony of that trailer park slut Paula Jones had vividly described Bubba’s member in lurid detail as being somehow deformed or otherwise ‘unique’. Now they are practically drooling over the possibility of peeking at Obama’s pee pee to determine whether it is a helmet or an anteater. The inner turmoil at repressed sexuality turned into a little alien chewing away the insides of star spangled God fearing folk is largely what drives them to rage against the non-white secular society, much of the repression is the result of religious indoctrination that makes all sex (and especially GASP gay sex) into a loathsome and feared form of sinful wretchedness. It’s ironic that so many of them end up becoming so warped by self loathing directed outwardly that when it finally finds an outlet it is in child molestation, violence and the lurid and sleazy extramarital affairs that they so denounce from their pulpits and bund halls. Rush the pigman is really not the authoritative source on anything that even resembles the straining at the seams sack of lemming shit that is pimped to the rubes and the peckerwoods as ‘values’. For one the guy is a rich fat failure who just happened to be plucked from obscurity by a fascist political machine determined to find the next Father Coughlin to poison the minds of the fucked over farmers in the heartland who had been ruined by Reaganism. He raged forth on the airwaves and was adored by Poppy Bush so much that he was invited to the White House to stay in the Lincoln Bedroom where the fat piece of shit probably jacked off under the sheets. He is thrice-divorced (so much for the sanctity of marriage), not only was doctor shopping and eating mass quantities of Vicodin and Oxycontin but sent his maid out to score for him (so much for the railing against crackheads) is a die hard racist (a necessity to be a Repiglican) and was busted along with the freaks who were responsible for giving us Jack Bauer (America’s favorite Nazi) coming back from the notorious sex tourist mecca in the Dominican Republic with an illegal bottle of Viagra in his luggage (was he fucking little boys or little girls?) that were it not for the rigged courts would have resulted in his drug violation being revoked and his sweaty, corpulent ass being thrown in prison where he belongs. Oh and the big patriotic man was also a draft dodger like so many of the other Republican chickenshits, he got out because he had a cyst on his ass and it’s long since crawled up his spinal column into his cranium where it set up shop.

Other than Limbaugh the pigman, the August anarchy in the town halls has been facilitated by the rest of the corporate protection racket payroll cable television Nazis and groups like the uber lobbyist tax chiseler Dick Armey’s Orwellian sounding Freedomworks. There is of course the immensely popular Glenn Beck, an increasingly unstable babbling rabble-rouser who seems to have the most effect on the average American half-wit. His FOX program is a masterpiece theatre of how to destabilize a country from within by inciting an angry army of heavily armed fifth columnists. Beck is an interesting case, he was plucked from obscurity out of the Tampa Bay market where he specialized in emceeing ‘big eater contests’ to be the moonfaced spokesman for post 9/11 fascism. In an interesting side story he is a former alcoholic whose family has a history of mental disorders including multiple suicides (trivia tidbit: Karl Rove’s mother also killed herself, driving out to the edge of the desert and gassing herself in a car) so I it would hardly be too awfully surprising if Herr Beck does the full Howard Beale and actually blows his brains out on the air someday – it would like the exploding head in Scanners and would go fucking viral on You Tube! With any luck he can induce his cult following to do likewise, it’d be the greatest mass suicide since Jonestown and would go one hell of a a long ways towards getting our national rat infestation problem under control.

Michelle Maglalang (aka Malkin) is another of the more hideous inciters of violence and even has a brand new book Culture of Corruption that is rocketing up the charts courtesy of the same reich wing bulk buying that lands every other amateurish version of Mein Kampf on the bestseller list (hint – look for the little dagger) where it is given away to dangerous freaks like David Adkisson who then go out and kill liberals. Maglalang became known for her support of U.S. internment camps for Muslims in the aftermath of the Big Wedding and like the rest of the house propagandists plays to the fears of the brown menace in railing against illegal immigration. Ironic in that she was at one time the subject of rumors (never substantiated) on the internet that actually accused her of being an anchor baby herself. Hell, I was in the Philippines a few times back during my Navy days, for all that I know I could be her daddy.

I could continue naming names but why bother? They are all diseased and punched out with cookie cutters from the same rolled slab of shit. All that I can say is that once they have their little revolution courtesy of the secessionists and plotters to take over the government that show up at the town halls looking like the deranged assholes that they are and order is restored that all the propagandists will be herded up by whoever is left and made to stand in the dock just like Julius Streicher did at Nuremberg.

The right wing slime machine has now chosen as a target the blog Queers Against Obama since it is easy pickings and panders to the vilest homophobic derangement of the red state fascist base. In another alarming sign of the coming crackdown on free speech and classifying of blogs as anarchist, terrorist or subversive it is this blog, where Ariel Attack happened to be a regular that is being targeted as an example. Hell, I’m going to go on the record here that I have spoken to the founder of Queers Against Obama on several occasions on an internet radio show that I am a regular on, he also happens to post on a few blogs that I frequent and I can attest that he does not seem to be any sort of threat to anyone. He’s just a pissed off activist who is able to see through Obama’s phony bullshit act and as with many gay people who were used and abused by this latest flim flam man and then thrown under the bus when the votes were no longer needed. Far from the wild revolutionary anarchist hellbent on the violent over throw of the government (unlike Beck’s psychotic minions) that the blogswarmers and reich wing media are trying to sell as their latest painted up fake devil. He is actually a very well educated individual which makes it two strikes against from the degenerate fascist right scum.

The blog, much like my own blogs and many others maintained by those of us who are more activist and choose to rage against the machine rather than line up to eat shit behind the rest of the lemmings certainly has incendiary rhetoric but let’s just get a little perspective here – we are pretty much voices in the wilderness, too small to be even bothered with until the vicious right-wing ratfuckers need to make an example of someone. The schoolyard bully mentality of the fascist right (along with the co-opted O Bots on the pathetic excuse that passes for the left) is dangerously predatory, stupid and relentless – I would suspect that the malodorous gray goo that is the brain of a pederast functions the same way. I would advise those of use who are renegades to take a stand against the savage attacks against QAO because as the great wisdom dispensed by Pastor Niemöller during the most pitch black of days in late 1930’s Germany:

The double standard is as flagrant as it is a condemnation of the corporate media in all of its resplendent foulness. The nation’s journalism schools long ago ceased to produce any sort of courageous truth tellers able to hold power to account, instead the allure of money and the realization that the bucks were in throwing in with the oligarchy ensured that a steady flow of stenographers, public relations flacks, establishment shills and corporate toadies would be pumped out. Once honorable institutions where reporters were allowed to learn the craft had become nothing more than machines producing cover up artists like link sausage made with tainted skunk meat. The reason that we find ourselves today in a decaying society ravaged by terminal sloth, dumbness and a need for scapegoats is in no small part the fault of a media that long ago abrogated it’s constitutional responsibility to ensure that an informed populace would serve as a necessary check on systemic corruption. When news became a for profit commodity the charlatans, cheats and schemers saw an opportunity to exploit and in turning the media into a 24/7 sleaze machine populated by big haired bimbos with thousand yard stares reciting nonsense off of teleprompters and vicious demagogues and hate mongers like Limbaugh and his ilk.

Whatever happened in Denver and why, while it is being spun by the fascist noisemakers who have turned August into a roiling cauldron of filth and hate is more of an illustration at just how much that the Obama administration has betrayed the party base. While the GOP and conniving swine like Newt Gingrich give their knuckle dragging base nothing but shovels of bloody red meat and then send them forth to harangue, disrupt and threaten the democratic process by descending on health care town hall meetings like flesh eating zombies the new ‘liberal’ Obama administration under the stewardship of Raht Emanuel is happy to use the base to mobilize to win elections but when the rubber meets the road it’s nothing but more of the same catering to corporate interests and finance industry plunderers. I would also like to note that Cindy Sheehan has been protesting at Martha’s Vineyard against the wars that Obama has not only inherited but escalated. To this point there is absolutely zero media coverage, stunning when you consider the back of camera fitted vultures that were present at George W. Bush’s Crawford dude ranch.

The growing anger towards the Obama administration is understandable with liberals and progressives, specifically the GBLT community, organized labor, civil libertarians and especially the antiwar movement. For a man who ran promising change the only change has been chump change, once again we’ve been had by a silver-tongued devil preaching renewal, no surprise given Obama’s stated admiration of Ronald Reagan, the ultimate product as president….that was until November 2008. The great Australian journalist and filmmaker John Pilger summed it up perfectly in his piece Obama’s 100 days – the mad men did well from which I excerpt:

Just as Marlboro Man was virility itself, so politicians could be branded, packaged and sold.

It is more than 100 days since Barack Obama was elected president of the United States. The “Obama brand” has been named “Advertising Age’s marketer of the year for 2008”, easily beating Apple computers. David Fenton of MoveOn.org describes Obama’s election campaign as “an institutionalised mass-level automated technological community organising that has never existed before and is a very, very powerful force”. Deploying the internet and a slogan plagiarised from the Latino union organiser César Chávez – “Sí, se puede!” or “Yes, we can” – the mass-level automated technological community marketed its brand to victory in a country desperate to be rid of George W Bush.

No one knew what the new brand actually stood for. So accomplished was the advertising (a record $75m was spent on television commercials alone) that many Americans actually believed Obama shared their opposition to Bush’s wars. In fact, he had repeatedly backed Bush’s warmongering and its congressional funding. Many Americans also believed he was the heir to Martin Luther King’s legacy of anti-colonialism. Yet if Obama had a theme at all, apart from the vacuous “Change you can believe in”, it was the renewal of America as a dominant, avaricious bully. “We will be the most powerful,” he often declared.

Perhaps the Obama brand’s most effective advertising was supplied free of charge by those journalists who, as courtiers of a rapacious system, promote shining knights. They depoliticised him, spinning his platitudinous speeches as “adroit literary creations, rich, like those Doric columns, with allusion…” (Charlotte Higgins in the Guardian). The San Francisco Chronicle columnist Mark Morford wrote: “Many spiritually advanced people I know… identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who… can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet.”

Since our reality television show president entered the White House the absence of any sort of meaningful change has been stunning, the audacity of the one who preached hope and is now exposed as just another snake oil salesman blindsided many of those who worked so hard to ensure that he would be the man to turn the page on the horrors of the Bush-Cheney era. The marketing campaign that washed the Pope of Hope into power as is now apparent just more of the same high-powered public relations and image making that corporate America has so successfully utilized for so long to sell us all crap that we didn’t need for money that we didn’t have. It was magnificent in that it relied so heavily on the votes of uninformed youth who were neither well informed nor politically active and who would just one time go out and do their civic duty in punching the ticket of the Michael Jordan of the new American century. They would then go back to their video games, their bling-bling and their blissfully ignorant lives. The great moderate middle, having exorcised the devil Bush could then shuffle back into their prostrate positions in front of their televisions and go back to sleep again.

The betrayals continue to mount even as the ongoing fascist plot to overthrow the legitimately (although deceptively) elected government continue to breed operatives like cockroaches. The Obamessiah has succeeded in leading his Wall Street masters to the promised land of milk and honey and is going back to shepherd the insurance industry racketeers.

How dare anybody expect a few crumbs be scattered in front of their miserable hovels on the way.

The Wall Street Journal: Gospel for the Moneychangers

 In today’s environment of corporate friendly, corporate owned newsless newspapers there is one paper that stands out as the top voice for big business: The Wall Street Journal. The Journal is the preferred reading material for the idle rich, the corporate buccaneers, ruthless capitalist punks and their wealthy sugar daddies who are the modern day successors to the ‘Robber Barons’ in the new Gilded Age. The WSJ while publishing the same information on the latest Bush administration snooping program into the financial transactions of millions to ostensibly track the money that could be used to fund terrorist activities. As if terrorist networks don’t highly suspect that their money trail is already being followed? Give me a fucking break, we are talking about professional jihadists and not woebegone losers like the ‘Cornrow Qaeda’ and their silly, overhyped plot to take down the Sears Tower.

The Times story on the monitoring of international banking transactions handled by SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) while initially not treated as much of a big deal was then seized upon by the Republican slime machine as yet another story in which to tear the country apart by affixing the ‘treason’ label to critics and dissenters, most specifically the New York Times. Just in time for the 4th of July, what better time for divisive “you are with us or you are with the terrorists” blasts of fiery rhetoric to allow the fascist GOP to wrap themselves in ‘Old Glory’ which in to crib a term from language (hey Coulter does it) of Senator Bill Frist and modify it slightly, “lost today” and loses every day that it is reduced to being used as a Republican turd wrapper. Speaking of A.C. here is a good piece on the anorexic, horse faced, plagiarizing skank courtesy of a story in the Buffalo Beast.

The echo chamber began to churn with the wonderful potential of taking down the NY Times as a red meat offering to the basest of all bases that are the GOP diehards and dead enders by sending out the pitchfork wielding knaves to launch a coordinated assault against ‘The Old Gray Lady’ for it’s alleged constant barrage of ‘liberal bias’ (Hitler once said something along the lines that the bigger the lie the more people that will believe it) even though the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal published similar stories….why is it that there is never as much outrage over the WSJ’s over the top ultra-conservative bias? Well the good little soldiers like the insidious Peter King of Long Island were all too willing to lead the attack by leveling charges of treason against the NYT, going so far as to even suggest an inquisition by the Republican congress and Bushist lackey Senator Pat Roberts whose nickname should be ‘Stonewall Roberts’ for his complicity in obstructing any serious attempts by his Senate intelligence committee to investigate the criminality of the ruling junta in it’s assault on “that goddamned piece of paper” the U.S. Constitution. The attack was quickly joined by pinheads like Bill O’Reilly and the rest of the electronic demagogues and the angry army of activists that are the right-wing slime throwers in the blogosphere.

Frank Rich of the accused traitor New York Times put it very well in his latest outstanding piece in yesterday’s Op Ed column entitled:

‘Can’t Win the War? Bomb the Press!’(you will have to get a subscription to Times Select or check out an actual copy of the Sunday Times to get the whole piece but here are a few choice paragraphs….unlike Coulter I always give credit to the original author)

OLD GLORY lost today,” Bill Frist declaimed last week when his second attempt to rewrite the Constitution in a single month went the way of his happy prognosis for Terri Schiavo. Of course it isn’t Old Glory that lost when the flag-burning amendment flamed out. The flag always survives the politicians who wrap themselves in it. What really provoked Mr. Frist’s crocodile tears was the foiling of yet another ruse to distract Americans from the wreckage in Iraq. He and his party, eager to change the subject in an election year, just can’t let go of their scapegoat strategy. It’s illegal Hispanic immigrants, gay couples seeking marital rights, cut-and-run Democrats and rampaging flag burners who have betrayed America’s values, not those who bungled a war.

No sooner were the flag burners hustled offstage than a new traitor was unveiled for the Fourth: the press. Public enemy No. 1 is The New York Times, which was accused of a “disgraceful” compromise of national security (by President Bush) and treason (by Representative Peter King of New York and the Coulter amen chorus). The Times’s offense was to publish a front-page article about a comprehensive American effort to track terrorists with the aid of a Belgian consortium, Swift, which serves as a clearinghouse for some 7,800 financial institutions in 200 countries.

It was a solid piece of journalism. But if you want to learn the truly dirty secrets of how our government prosecutes this war, the story of how it vilified The Times is more damning than anything in the article that caused the uproar.

Sorry, that’s all that you are going to get here…you will have to seek out the rest on your own. Suffice it to say that the wrath of the entire anti-American fascist Republican establishment was loosed in a coordinated assault on the Times. De-facto President Dick Cheney as always led the charge with so much venom and vitriol that I am surprised that he didn’t blow out an aorta:

“What I find most disturbing about these stories is the fact that some of the news media take it upon themselves to disclose vital national security programs, thereby making it more difficult for us to prevent future attacks against the American people,” Mr. Cheney said, in impromptu remarks at a fund-raising luncheon for a Republican Congressional candidate in Chicago. “That offends me.” (NYT 6/24/06)

Leave it to ‘Dirty Dick’ to throw down the fear card that he has done so effectively in order to further his nefarious agenda ever since the stench of burning flesh from the WTC attacks was still in the air and bodies were being pulled from the rubble. Cheney is a man on a mission with a maniacal drive to overturn the constitutional intent of the founders by reconfiguring the presidency into a position where the chief executive would be able to wield dictatorial powers more in line with a king than a president. This is a man with vendetta and a thirty-year hard on for retribution against the press and the congress ever since the pullout from Saigon and the ouster of Richard M. Nixon from the White House. This is addressed in another outstanding piece in last week’s edition of the New Yorker on David Addington (Scooter Libby’s replacement) by Jane Mayer. ‘The Hidden Power’ offers a glimpse behind the scenes into exactly what goes on behind the scenes in the House of Cheney and the hardball tactics of the dark master and his minions in getting payback for the rat-fucking of Nixon by carrying out a vendetta against the checks and balances of the system.  But I digress, this post is primarily about the Wall Street Journal and the unique dynamic of their hard news department versus the White House adjunct on their editorial page. The GOP jihad against the press this past week is great at illustrating just how different that the two sections are. The WSJ editorial page like the good little attack doggies that they are lashed out at the dastardly liberals at the New York Times with a huge, hectoring diatribe on Friday that referenced the works of an obscure legal scholar and then proceeded to launch a scathing and caustic attack on the credibility of the Times that included the following statements:

“We recount all this because more than a few commentators have tried to link the Journal and Times at the hip”

 And:

“We suspect that the Times has tried to use the Journal as its political hitshield precisely because it knows that our editors have more credibility on these matters”And then the coup de grace:

“The problem with the Times is that millions of Americans no longer believe that its editors would make those calculations in anything close to good faith. We sure don’t. On issue after issue, it has become clear that the Times believes the U.S. is not really at war, and in any case the Bush administration lacks the legitimacy to wage it”

Translation: HANG THE LIBERAL FUCKING TRAITORS!!!

 Jesus, who in the fuck wrote that shit? Karl Rove? I absolutely love the comment where the WSJ editorialists seem to say that they are more reliable than the NYT and in a sense they are probably right, they have consistently been there to carry the water for the Republicans whenever controversy or the ugly spectre of truth reared its head. This vitriolic attack was so over the top that John Harwood a senior writer for the WSJ was forced to explain the “shocking” nature of the editorial on Meet The Press, here is the story on this from Editor & Publisher.

The WSJ is the ‘mighty wurlitzer’ of globalist corporate propaganda and is as indispensable to hard core neo-liberal free market fanatics as the availability of cheap overseas sweatshop labor is to their bottom lines. Crony Capitalists revel in the in depth coverage of corporate maneuvers and gossip of impending mergers and acquisitions that are predominant features of the Journal. The slavering devotion to promoting the ill advised policy of cutting taxes on the rich while increasing spending dramatically to ‘starve the beast’ is a dogma which the Journal promotes with missionary zeal while preaching to a choir of elitist, Chivas sipping, Lexus driving, Ayn Rand worshipping, gluttonous greed mongers. Gordon Gekko was a piker compared to the predators that have evolved since the golden era of Reagan deregulatory greed and rampant scandals on the street, they are far more sophisticated and the rise in technology has made the grand financial game both more intricate as well as easier to conceal. The truly great technical minds don’t work for international terrorist organizations or the law enforcement squads tasked with sniffing both they and corporate plunderers out, the true geniuses work on Wall Street where they manipulate the world markets like the true maestros that they are.

However, to broad brush the entire paper due to it’s target audience of the capitalist vultures who have no qualms over their profiting off of the screwing of the American working class, profiteering off of bloody foreign wars or booking gains made possible by the exploitation of sweatshop child labor toiling under barbaric conditions in third world shithole factories is not the point here. The Journal actually does have a fairly decent news operation that steers clear of the cheap and sleazy celebrity garbage that threatens to turn other papers into nothing more than toned down versions of the National Enquirer and other cheesy check stand tabloids.

To honestly look at the Journal it is necessary to look at each of its three major components independently rather than the paper as a whole.

The Good: The Journal’s actual news, although lacking in overall content is generally well written and researched and targeted at a far higher intellect than the incredibly bland and dumbed down McNews of the only national paper with a higher circulation: USA Today which is written to appeal to those with the cognitive level of sixth graders. The news section is generally filled with stories that involve corporations, regulatory information, serious domestic and international news that has the potential to affect investor decisions but that is to be expected by a paper that specializes in financial news and business information. It is definitely slanted towards those with a right wing bias but the actual journalistic qualities are of a high standard. The news department does a credible job on the stories that they do choose to cover at length but the majority of the paper to no surprise is dedicated to business news, pro corporate public relatons spin and of course the most in depth stock and financial section in print.

The Bad: A financial stats section that is a speculator’s dream and that wholly encourages the raging Laissez-Faire cancer that has eaten away the backbone of American prosperity. Former Fed Reserve Chairman and WSJ cult figure Alan Greenspan was treated with reverence and the current climate of market manipulation is praised to the extent of being something just below holiness. Despite the finest financial section in the land the Journal must bear some responsibility for pimping the neo liberal ‘free’ market worship that is laying waste to America in the name of unfettered global capitalism. The WSJ is to the speculators and high rollers what the racing form and tip sheet are to bookies and gambling addicts. The commonality is that both are degenerate gamblers in the same manner that a desperate crack addict offering cheap blow jobs for a daily fix and a ‘high class’ thousand dollar an hour prostitute are both whores.

While extolling the virtues of Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand the WSJ fails to mention the obvious contradictions between the selective interpretation of the much ballyhooed ‘Wealth of Nations’ and the realities of modern day society. Smith would definitely not be a proponent of the unrestrained ‘free market’ of today and it’s grossly disproportionate favoritism of the wealthiest of the wealthy and unaccountable corporations and their wholly owned subsidiary on the Potomac. In fact Smith’s treatise, due to the period in which it was first published was completely unable to forsee the detrimental and corrupting effects on the free market by high tech, transnational corporations and the individuals who guide them with no regard whatsoever to the continuing stability and health of the local community which must should in theory be the benefactor of trade, provided that the ownership has a vested interest in such a community. The perverse concept of total laissez faire economics actually lessens the ability of the markets to be either free or fair and when coupled with an inherently corrupt political system in which the largest of corporations are able to throw money around by the bushel like a rancher feeding slop to pigs to eliminate regulatory oversight and stack the deck in their favor it is anything but a free market and the small business owners as well as the consumers are the ones who are getting the shaft. Most Americans don’t even get the benefit of a reach around by the ‘invisible hand’ while being buggered by the unfettered ‘free market’.

The reason that I have labeled this particular function of the WSJ as ‘the bad’ is that it perpetuates the very forces that are destroying the American dream as well as laying bare the extremely unpleasant fact that unregulated capitalism is a failed economic system destined to one day (the sooner the better) assume it’s rightful place in the family plot of doomed ideologies next to the grave of totalitarian communism.

The Ugly: The one part of the WSJ that is the grossest and sleaziest by far is the Editorial Page which is probably the most overtly biased in the land not owned by either Rupert Murdoch or Richard Mellon Sciafe and which serves as a direct mainline from the think tanks and GOP propaganda mills to the targeted segments of the public who treat the Journal as the gospel itself. The Op Ed section is chock full of slanted and just plain nasty viewpoints dripping with poison pen vitriol that is designed to prop up whatever extreme right wing figures or organizations happen to be under fire at any particular time and to ALWAYS, no matter what happens discredit the hated liberals and act as a defender for political and corporate malfeasance or the extreme right.

It is the on the Op Ed page where the Journal crawls into the gutters and slimes around with the slugs with what is without a doubt the meanest, most subjective and dishonest staff of propaganda producing hacks this side of FOX News. Whether they be loudly whining about the evil bogeyman of dreaded liberal media ‘bias’, bashing progressive social programs and sane foreign policy the house columnists are geared towards promoting the same policies of divisiveness that their beloved Republican party touts, for their system to function according to their desires it is of the utmost importance to create phantoms in order to keep the poor pitted one against another so as they never realize the gross inequalities of the system itself. The worst nightmare of the elitists is for people to start grasping the unpleasant realities and to begin to question and to organize for that will be the beginning of the end for their beloved neo-liberalism and crony capitalism. Nowhere was the propaganda of the WSJ Op Ed section more blatant and outright deceptive as in their labeling of the poor, who pay no taxes as ‘Luckie Duckies’, a two word think tank created marketing phrase that utilized the twisted, through the looking glass logic that the poorest of Americans who had insufficient income to be liable for any sort of taxes were somehow the most fortunate of all.

Overall, the Wall Street Journal runs slightly (but not much) to the left of Benito Mussolini, a man whose ‘corporatism’ was fawned over by Fortune Magazine which featured Il Duce on it’s cover in the 1930’s as an example of a pro business leader, of course this was before fascism became a dirty word and well before it became businiess as usual on Wall Street and in Washington.
