Good God, here we fucking go again. In addition to the renewed flogging of that tired old al-Qaeda warhorse, the ongoing focus on the most ridiculously destructive wedge issue of all time: ABORTION and the fear and smear bread and butter tactics of scaring the bejesus out of simpleton yokels while screeching “unpatriotic” and “traitor” at opponents. Leave it to the recently ousted Paul Wolfowitz to blame it all on the liberal media. The two-time loser Wolfman who was recently run out of the World Bank on a rail after his bestowing of a lavish salary on his personal fuck buddy Shaha Ali Riza (an Arab of all things which must have gone over like an inconvenient burst of flatulence at those AIPAC Anonymous gatherings) who dumped him soon afterwards generated mass outrage bemoaned his fate with that baleful neocon lament that it was ALL the media’s fault. I am still trying to suppress a gag reflex at the thought of any woman doing the naked horizontal bop with that comb-sucking freak.

These people have absolutely no fucking shame! First they spend millions if not billions of dollars constructing a perpetual propaganda machine that makes Joseph Goebbels look like a rank amateur, further hedge their bets by consolidating nearly every fucking aspect of the mainstream media into five or six goliaths with interlocking directorates then use this vast electronic echo chamber to piss away an entire generation by selling them tabloid illusions as reality as well as instilling a deep seated free floating fear and the accompanying national meanness that comes with it and he actually has the balls to blame the pocket media for his Clintonesque worshipping of his own dick at the expense of any semblance of the sort of moral authority that could be reasonably expected from the president of the World Bank. But as we peasants are all too often reminded in the sordid land of post 9/11 Homeland Amerika the rules don’t ever apply to either neocons or other servants the three-headed monster of the Bush-Cheney-Rove Axis of Evil.

Jesus fucking Christ these people have no shame but I repeat myself.

I would be hard pressed to think of a more nauseating spectacle than the unctuous fraud John Boehner’s breaking into a blubbery jag of crocodile tears during the debate on the Iraq spending bill on Thursday. Times have changed, such an outburst ruined the political career of Ed Muskie in another era but then that was when high crimes and misdemeanors and fibbing about a blowjob was the trigger of impeachment proceedings. It was a performance for the ages that was so bad that it bordered on camp or the sort of faux macho cheese that you typically would find in an Arnold Schwarzenegger or Fred Thompson movie where the Alpha male musk fills the air like a ripe wheel chasing skunk that just met it’s match on the hottest day in July. It reminded me of that scene in the movie “Used Cars” where Toby the dog plays along with one of the lot lizard scams by playing dead to generate sympathy and guilt that would cause the prospective buyer to shell out money for the overpriced lemon that he would drive off the lot (the door fell off on the way out) – “that price is just too fucking high”! (I just had to slip that line in). Boner’s [sic] waterworks were right up there in terms of rank cynicism and in sneering insincerity as the tactics of any of the sleazeballs employed by the Fuchs Brothers on their competing lots and God knows in America there are ALWAYS buyers for that sort of lame horseshit – a land of suckers who breed like fucking rabbits and are ever proud to call themselves Republicans.

I know that it’s one hell of a statement to make regarding the less than becoming conduct of the House Minority Leader especially given the recent history of the best little whorehouse in Washington but his bawl baby routine is right up there with every act of sordid rottenness of the House that begat Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay. It surpassed Ohio’s star spangled tomboy Jean Schmidt’s cowardly shanking of John Murtha, the banishment of John Conyers to a basement closet to conduct unofficial hearings on The Downing Street Memo, the calling of the Capitol police on Democrats by piss baby Republican sore winners, the routine tantrums of the jowly James Sensenbrunner and even the disgraced pervert Mark Foley’s cybersex with young boys during legislative sessions. I just can’t sugar coat it any more than that.

Le Enfant Terrible is taking Adolf Hitler’s advice to heart that “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed” invoked al-Qaeda 19 times during a hastily called press conference on Thursday. In repeating the talking point cadence to the army of red stated simian knuckledraggers Bush even managed to hit a new low for himself (no small accomplishment given his criminal career) by suggesting that the swarthy bearded ones were coming after the children of reporters who did not recognize that their primary duty was deference to the unitary executive and who refused to act as bobbleheads while engaging in their normal stenography. According to Dana Milbank of the Washington Post:

The session was called to draw attention to the fact that Democratic leaders had just caved in to Bush’s demand that the Iraq spending bill have no withdrawal timeline. But as frequently happens at presidential events these days, it quickly became al-Qaeda, all the time. Bush invoked the terrorist group 19 times and even suggested it was going after individual reporters’ kids.

“They are a threat to your children, David,” he advised NBC’s David Gregory.

“It’s a danger to your children, Jim,” Bush informed the New York Times’ Jim Rutenberg.

This last warning was perplexing, because Rutenberg has no children, only a brown chow chow named Little Bear. It was unclear whether Bush was referring to a specific and credible threat to Little Bear or merely indicating there was increased “chatter in the system” about chow chows in general.

At least a passing bird had sense enough to shit on our national fucking disgrace of a ‘war president’ by offering up a great exclamation point to the Rose Garden snake oil sale event. The Republicans are determined to play the terrorism card and to deal it from the bottom of the deck until either hell freezes over or until the feckless, slack jawed sheep in the Democratic majority finally get the stones to hold REAL hearings and start impeaching, arresting and hauling all of the vermin off to prison where the filthy motherfuckers belong. Rudy Giuliani can’t get three words out of his mouth without mentioning 9/11 and the remainder of the ideologically bankrupt goose stepper caucus parrots the party line as they always have. The Republican strategy always reminds me of that National Lampoon cover “If you don’t buy this magazine we’ll kill this dog”.

While armchair patriots across the land fired up their BBQ’s and swilled beer in honor of their three day weekends the ‘commander guy’ defiled the final resting place of America’s fallen heroes by dragging his draft dodging ass to Arlington National Cemetery to spew lame platitudes about such empty slogans as duty, honor and sacrifice for democracy. If the dead could only call bullshit on the sort of amoral politicians who ensured that they would end up at Arlington they might say something like this from Dalton Trumbo’s Johnny Got His Gun:

As for the Neville Chamberlain wing of the war party, the Democrats made much ado that Queen Hillary and Barrack Obama voted against the Bush Iraq Carte Blanche Enabling Act but lost in translation is that neither actually voted when the fate of the bill was still in question. Both of them slithered out from their DLC rocks well after their symbolic votes had lost their meaning but it’s good PR that will endlessly be pimped to the dumb asses happily awash in blissful ignorance in this attention deficit democracy. The Bob Schrum disciples will be sure to dissemble, spin post their swill on notorious Operation Mockingbird vacuum cleaner operation clearinghouses like Daily Kos and continue to talk a good fight while rolling over again and again for King George. At least Joe Biden cast his vote while the outcome hadn’t been decided which while more deserving of merit than Hillary and Obama’s cowardice shows that he has a tin ear outside of his regular appearances for Dick Cheney’s favorite lapdog Tim Russert on ‘Press The Meat’ and still can’t pull his foot out from that flaming bag of dogshit but in this twisted, sick bizarro world he proves even a one eyed man can be king in the land of the blinded albeit temporarily, such is the fleeting cognitive dissonance of the days of the Bushreich.

And finally, Satan’s Memorial Day pit BBQ was a smashing success as the Reverend Jerry Falwell’s fat ass was served basted with a nice chili chutney mixed with blackstrap molasses and slow roasted on a spit until well done.

You can always hear the people who are willing to sacrifice somebody else’s life. They’re plenty loud and they talk all the time. You can find them in churches and schools and newspapers and legislatures and congress. That’s their business. They sound wonderful. Death before dishonor. This ground sanctified by blood. These men who died so gloriously. They shall not have died in vain. Our noble dead.

Hmmmm..

But what do the dead say?

Did anybody ever come back from the dead any single one of the millions who got killed did any one of them ever come back and say by god I’m glad I’m dead because death is always better than dishonor? Did they say I’m glad I died to make the world safe for democracy? Did they say that I like death better than losing liberty? Did any of them ever say it’s good to think I got my guts blown out for the honor of my country? Did any of them ever say look at me I’m dead but I died for decency and that’s better than being alive? Did any of them ever say here I am I’ve been rotting for two years in a foreign grave but it’s wonderful to die for your native land? Did any of them say hurray I died for womanhood and I’m happy see how I sing even though my mouth is choked with worms?

Nobody but the dead know whether all these things people talk about are worth dying for or not. And the dead can’t talk. So the words about noble deaths and sacred blood and honor and such are all put into dead lips by grave robbers and fakes who have no right to speak for the dead. If a man says death before dishonor he is either a fool or a liar because he doesn’t know what death is. He isn’t able to judge. He only knows about living. He doesn’t know anything about dying. If he is a fool and believes in death before dishonor let him go ahead and die.

Slow Roasting Pork

The fat man is singing. He is dancing in the streets at a party in a nice neighborhood on the outskirts of Chicago. He is wearing the pancake makeup and costume of a clown, making balloon animals for children. He is the envy of many and he is a successful man, a Christian man whose family values and membership in respectful organizations like the Jaycees made him a role model to those unsuspecting of his dark side and hidden impulses.

Police investigating a series of disappearances of young men eventually came to suspect John Wayne Gacy and by the time that 29 bodies were dug up on his property his name was guaranteed to live in infamy for not only his sadistic cruelty and homosexual deviance in torturing and murdering 33 male victims who had been lured into the web of the evil sexual predator but for his banality.

I personally find it humorous for some bizarre reason that I am unable to explain that John Wayne Gacy’s suburban Illinois home where the corpses were excavated is not far from the stomping grounds of one John Dennis Hastert, another singing and dancing Chicago area fat man who today finds his acre of ass entrapped in a very ugly, burgeoning scandal that is turning into a media circus involving the cover-up of the conduct of a Republican Congressman and sexual predator for the sake of political expediency.

Despite his steadfast refusal to resign his post as Speaker of the House over the failure to adequately address warnings that Mark Foley was possibly just a little bit more than “overly friendly” John Dennis Hastert is running out of room to maneuver. His much ballyhooed at the time American Values Agenda has ignited in his chubby fingers like a prank bag of flaming dogshit and with each passing day more of those who had been previously duped and hornswoggled by GOP snake oil salesmen are beginning to slowly come to the realization that the only family with ‘values‘ along the lines of those of the Republicans is the Manson Family. It is hard to suppress guffaws of sardonic laughter when reading the following statement from Jabba the Hastert that was issued only a few short months ago:

“The American Values Agenda will defend America’s founding principles. Through this agenda, we will work to protect the faith of our people, the sanctity of life and freedoms outlined by our founding fathers. Radical courts have attempted to gut our religious freedom and redefine the value system on which America was built. We hope to restore some of those basic values through passing this legislative agenda and renewing our country’s commitment to faith, freedom and life.”That was back at the end of June when Republicans were getting their swagger back and braying their trademark nationalist outrage at ‘America haters’ who did not support the flag burning amendment that is normally rolled out just in time for the Fouth of July but a few months is an eternity in the game of politics where glory is fleeting and infamy long lasting.

Just like his master Tom DeLay did when he was going down, the porcine Hastert took the low road of a career scoundrel and in the true spirit of the culture of victimization that is the authoritarian hard right he blamed his own failings on somebody else. Pity the poor right-wingers, they are always the victims. If it’s not women, homosexuals, trial lawyers, Commies, judges, the ACLU it is the liberals fault and ABC too for not succumbing to bribery and pressure and going ahead with the Foley story. When a skunk is cornered it sprays in every direction seeking to contaminate the air so it can escape, the longtime Rovian strategy is to muddy the waters in order to confuse and distract and to smear and slime and hurl accusations at phantoms so the fat slob took to the airwaves on the pill popper’s show to get the message out to the angry army and circumvent the goddamned, fucking liberal media:

“We have a story to tell, and the Democrats have — in my view have — put this thing forward to try to block us from telling the story. They’re trying to put us on defense.”


Slobbered Hastert as blamed the great liberal conspiracy that has served as rocket fuel for the rise of authoritarian right-wing fascism. His multiple chins quivered like ripples of pink gelatin fraught with indignity as he spat out his invective and vitriolic words like carefully aimed daggers.

To borrow ultra-right wing lunatic David Horowitz’ revisionist reworking of the Clausewitz quote that “war is nothing but a continuation of politics by other means”, to apply to raw partisanship I must agree that today politics IS war. It is also deliciously ironic that the “story to tell” otherwise known as 9/11 and the accompanying fear mongering and slander that goes along with it that Hastert and his ilk are being undone by that one thing that it is even more precious to Americans than their cringing need for protection – their insatiable obsession with sex. It is the ultimate in schadenfreude that the party that not long ago shut the country down over a blowjob is now seeing their best laid plans disintegrate in a sea of prurient smut.

According to a recent Reuters story, the Bush administration’s political machinations have been stalled albeit temporarily by the same lurid sexual tabloidism that they have successfully traficked in for so long.And of course our national strong daddy figure himself George W. Bush came out to say that he is “standing by Hastert” along with all of the usual suspects who are now closing ranks and expressing satisfaction with an insincere apology. It is worth remembering that the same crowd once wanted to all but march Bill Clinton to the guillotine for a consensual affair with a member of the opposite sex who was of legal age at the time.

Of course this should surprise nobody at all who has any ablilty to engage in critical thinking; it would only be shocking if he would jettison a reprobate or an incompetent of significant power and any such action would be the first for a man adrift in a sea of immorality with a busted compass and a stuck rudder. Bush has an affinity for dishonorable men for he himself is among the most dishonorable of them all and like a crime boss bestowing a kiss on the cheek of one of f an underling so has he rallied to the defense of John Dennis Hastert.

John Dennis Hastert’s rote statements of pandering to ‘the base’ (Al Qaeda also means ‘the base’)under a vaguely defined umbrella of Rorschachian ‘values’ that are primarily manifested in partisan loyalty. Buzz words and scapegoats have now become so expansive so as to include not only defenses of the standard rank fixers, charlatans, thieves, shake down artists, false prophets, babbling asses, Bush sycophants and outright sleaze mongers but are now also is inclusive to degenerate sexual predators whose lusting after young males is so pathological that according to sources including ABC Foley once had to leave during a floor vote to go and run a batch over an impromptu session of cyber sex.

But Republicans as they have been so good at reminding us are the ‘values’ people and those who stand on that wall to defend society from the pitchfork bearing hordes of liberals run amok who hate us for our way of life. According to Vote Smart Hastert received a 100 percent rating from the Family Research Council in 2005 for his stance on family and childrens issues. FRC must have known something because they only saw fit to bestow upon Foley, and I kid you not with this number that is slang for inverted simultaneous oral sex a rating of 69!

The involvement of the House Ethics Committee is nothing more than window dressing, the committee is neutered and will be more interested in presenting the façade of a legitimate investigation when in essence it is only damage control and trying to run out the clock for desperate Republicans. Any findings by the committee should be treated with as much credibility as an internal audit undertaken by employees of the Corleone family into allegations of potential criminal activity within the Genco Olive Oil Company. Oh and then there is the FBI investigation, which I am sure will be performed with all the due diligence that longtime Bush toady Alberto Gonzalez can muster will leave no stone unturned in this latest egregious example of the corrupting influence of unfettered power.

John Wayne Gacy was such a malevolent monster, so irredeemably evil and unremorseful for his many sins that his last words before he was executed were reportedly “You can kiss my ass”. After his body was pumped full of a sufficient quantity of toxic chemicals to ensure that he had departed from this mortal coil his brain was removed to be studied by forensic pathologists for abnormalities that may have caused his inhuman tendencies and propensity for cruelty. Regarding his victims he sneeringly remarked that:

“They were just a bunch of worthless little queers and punks”.I would not be one bit surprised to hear the same words about Democrats and critics spew forth from the pie holes of Bush, Rove, Hastert, Gingrich, O’Reilly, Coulter, Cheney, Frist, Dobson or any one of hundreds of other members of the American Fascist Party, so intense is their disdain and contempt for the very concept of a constitutional republic and the democracy that Americans until only a scant half decade ago took for granted as their birthright.

Perhaps when John Dennis Hastert and all of his vile Republican cohorts die the same thing should be done with their brains so that we may one day understand what drives these monsters so as to be best able to prevent it for the sake of future generations.

In the Aftermath of the Storm

If anything has been laid bare in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina it is the long disseminated myth that America is a land of boundless opportunity and equality for all of its citizens. A land where the ability to prosper was limited only by the ability of each and every American to answer the knocking at their front door of Horatio Alger, to seize the roaring tiger named destiny by the tail and to ride on its back, roaring in unison in the pursuit of the American Dream and all of its optimism. Immigrants descended on this nation at one time literally believing that the streets were lined with gold only to find themselves trapped in hellish working conditions in factories, in fields or forced to build the railroads that would provide the infrastructure of commerce to the wealthiest of the land, to the capitalists, to the Robber Barons. The truth is that for too long the ugliness of the growing underclass has been ignored, the poor and the black are systematically ostracized from society by the adherents of the philosophy of unfettered greed that is the bastard fruit of the Reagan Revolution: the free market.

When the horrifying imagery of thousands of mainly black, poor, elderly and sick residents left to their own devices to survive in the anarchy filled streets of post Katrina New Orleans was broadcast to the entire world some very uncomfortable questions were beginning to be asked. Uncomfortable to the entire concept of an advanced egalitarian society that has for too long been accepted as gospel to ignorant, television addicted Americans and specifically troublesome for the Bush administration, whose reckless, ideological undercutting of the very foundations of the progressive social ideals that at one time had built this country into the shining city on the hill were beginning to be exposed as the nothing other than the all out class warfare with extreme prejudice that they are intended to be. Once the foolish Orwellian sloganeering is put under a microscope it is easy to see that it is all marketing, wrapped in the flag and promoted through political and media chicanery to disguise the true nature of the ideologies behind such radical assaults on American ideals as Healthy Forests, Clear Skies, No Child Left Behind, PATRIOT Act, Ownership Society and all of the other malarkey and folderol that spews forth from Rove Inc.

The very fabric of the social contract itself is being unwound, the constitution of the republic disemboweled so that the wealthiest can become wealthier, the tax cheats can continue to duck responsibility for paying their use of the infrastructure to reap profit, the tax code rewritten specifically to introduce mammoth loopholes to facilitate their willful noncompliance and the laws of the land themselves rewritten to limit the recourse of the less fortunate to hold accountable those in power. The law is also being changed so as to allow the ruling elite imperialists to loosely redefine that which constitutes terrorism so that the net becomes wide enough to entrap any dissenters to the reactionary reign of the fascist right. Corporations and the ultra rich now own congress, they subsidize the campaigns of those willing to defraud the public in their rise through the system and fully expect to be rewarded for their efforts. Corporate sponsored political organizations such as the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) carefully screen all potential candidates so as to root out any progressives who would seek to close the feeding trough to ultra capitalist pigs, this further strengthens the radical right and undermines the concept of democracy. The Democratic Party itself has become so inundated with corporate hacks and compliant appeasers that it has lost its ability to act as a check on power run amok, and its fecklessness in the face of aggression bears one hell of a lot of the responsibility for the current state of this country.

What did George W. Bush do when it became apparent that his lack of response to last weeks disaster was as abysmal a failure as his leadership of the country? He made public relations appearances, he sent Laura Bush out to appear on national television. He called out the guard three days too late and when the relief convoy finally rolled into flood and mayhem roiled Louisiana it was led by a cigar chomping general, an archetype figure and just the piece of stagecraft that would demonstrate to the T.V. stewpots that law and order would damned well be restored in the American way, it if as though Patton himself were arriving to lead the charge. He enlisted the assistance of the right wing media smear machine to once again muddy the waters regarding responsibility for the disaster of New Orleans and he pulled out the race card by sending forth loyal soldier Condoleeza Rice as an emissary to show that any suggestion that his administration and the radical conservative movement was insensitive to the needs of the poor or racially insensitive to the plight of black Americans was patently absurd.

Condi, who earlier in the week while shopping for thousand dollar shoes at Ferragamo, an exclusive New York boutique was shouted down by an angry patron who screamed “How dare you shop for shoes while thousands are dying and homeless!”, the woman who was understandably incensed at seeing a top administration figure splurging lavishly on vacation while the Big Easy was being engulfed was only voicing the frustration of the growing number of Americans who realize the extent to which the pyramid of bullshit that has been constructed by this administration. The former Chevron board member was sent to the front lines to slog through the trenches of public opinion. By Sunday, Dr. Rice had her pampered ass parked in the pew of a Mobile, Alabama church where she deflected mounting criticism by proclaiming “Nobody, especially the president, would have left people unattended on the basis of race”. In reality, Rice has little in common with the poor inner city blacks that she is now directed by her boss and his handlers to champion, she has far more in common with other prominent Toms like Colin Powell, Clarence Thomas and O.J. Simpson who are so smitten with their presence on the master’s plantations that they dare not even dream about biting the hand that feeds them by actually trying to bring about recognition to the problems of the poor and black second class citizens of the land. Rather they ignore them at any time when it is not necessary for public relations purposes, like their elitist benefactors they themselves become advocates of social Darwinism through their inability to utilize their positions of influence to promote concepts of humanitarianism and dignity for those who are less fortunate.

As the long Labor Day weekend wore on, the unprecedented negative media coverage given the Bush administration’s criminal neglect of the suffering citizens of New Orleans was somewhat diluted due to the fortuitously timed death of Chief Justice William Rehnquist, it began to become clear that the GOP strategy would be to triangulate and redirect the blame to local officials rather than admit the embarrassing truth that every agency in America is staffed by Bush loyalist lackeys like FEMA chief and former commissioner of the Arabian Horse Association Michael Brown. The king himself stated that ‘Brownie’ was doing “a heck of a job” on Friday, giving a pat on the back to his utterly clueless and overwhelmed compadre. The best quote regarding the mind boggling level of utter incompetence of Brown belonged to Kate Hale, the former Miami-Dade emergency management chief who eloquently summed it up: “He’s done a hell of a job, because I’m not aware of any Arabian horses being killed in this storm. The world that this man operated in and the focus of this work does not in any way translate to this. He does not have the experience.”. AMEN!

The damage from the aftermath is so severe that the master of double-dealing treachery, Turd Blossom himself would personally lead the efforts to slime and discredit those who would dare to speak out against the regime in the name of the preservation of the real ‘naked’ truth that not only does the emperor have no clothes but is a fucking delusional lunatic whose incompetence is only matched by his megalomaniac fantasies of being God’s own instrument of Earthly providence.

Another pathetic opportunistic vulture is the odious Senator Bill Frist (R) TN: The flip flopping Senate Majority Leader, never one to allow a chance for publicity and self glorification go by materialized in New Orleans as a volunteer medical assistant. The heart surgeon and scion of the HCA Healthcare empire, the man who made Terri Schiavo into a personal crusade and launching pad for the 2008 GOP nomination, busied himself in triage for the benefit of the cameras although his limited participation as a volunteer would not impede his return to Washington on Tuesday for the confirmation hearings of future Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Did you expect anything less from the spokesman for the radical religious right’s Justice Sunday assaults on the judiciary?

I will never forget how angry that I became when once many years ago a young woman named Dorothy who happened to be majoring in women’s studies at a local college proclaimed that “America is a land for rich white men founded by rich white men”. This was a statement which I found to be bordering on heresy at the time given my ignorance of how the system really works. Today, in retrospect, after time and education have enlightened me I am flabbergasted at just how this angered me at the time. But then I knew nothing of the true nature of our society nor of it’s at many times gruesome and sordid history. I was as oblivious to that which is now as obvious as the light of day to any who are able to rise above the lemming like mentality of the bewildered herd. In a land where twelve former U.S. Presidents were also at one time slave owners, including eight who owned them while in office it is hard to look at any broad state condoned versions of history with anything other than a skeptical eye.

This statement now ranks as one of the greatest truths that has ever been told to me in a world that is sadly lacking of them…

Let Them Eat Fear

Yesterday’s appearance of Al Quaeda honcho Ayman Al-Zawahiri (Robin to Bin Laden’s Batman) in a yet to be authenticated video clip aired on Al Jazeera had all of the usual trademarks: the backdrop of rock cave or canyon, Islamic fundamentalist religious garb, an assault weapon at his side as a prop and fortuitous timing. The clip just happened to pop up at a time when the Bush administration hydra was regenerating, riding high coming off of a week of fawning mainstream press coverage over the pork laden horsetrading of a corrupt one party legislature that brutally rammed through Bush priority legislation including gun industry friendly immunity from product liability, baseball steroidgate news, resurgent missing Aruba teen coverage, giant panda bear news and space shuttle stories that completely knocked traitors Karl Rove and Scooter Libby out of the headlines. Now suddenly more bad news from Bush’s war threatened to slow the momentum. American marines in Iraq were becoming corpses in an increasingly bloody quagmire. 44 officially announced dead in the last 10 days was taking a bit of the bloom off of the chaff blossom that King George disappeared into on his way to yet another extended vacation on the phony Crawford, TX ranch where he spends more time on the taxpayer dole than any other chief executive in history.

Enter Al-Zawahiri. These Quaeda dudes just happen to pop up at the darndest of times, all fortuitously beneficial to periods of public discontent with the administration or ugly news that it considers inconvenient to the political agenda. Didn’t Osama himself just happen to emerge from the batcave looking tanned and rested only four days prior to last years election? Such coincidence may cause people to talk. Dubya was certainly using the occasion to talk, albeit mostly in a rambling and unintelligible manner (which he typically does whenever not reading from a teleprompter or taking audio cues from a back mounted communication device) from Crawford Ranch where he launched into a belicose diatribe to remind Americans that we are in a war to the death with the terrorists, after all, these are the guys who attacked us on 9-11 because they hate our prosperous lifestyle and the egalatarian democratic system in which we live. Strong Daddy, the protector was back!

Recent terror attacks in London and Egypt had the administration frantically trying to find an Al Quaeda connection, anything to resuscitate the specter of terror that has worked so well in using as a bludgeon of the American spirit so as to impose their radical fascist doctrine upon society, as Herr Goering said, “It works the same in any country”. The Bushie ship was taking on water due to the exposure of Rove, Libby and still to be named others in the treasonous Plame outing and terrorism has always been the ace in the hole to be played as the ultimate trump card at the most critical moment. The Al-Zawahiri video, while lacking the ability to send the nation into a much desired total lockdown where dissent would be quashed through extreme enforcement of the USAPATRIOT act certainly buys a bit of time for a workable strategy to be mapped out to distract attention for the looting of the treasury, the gutting of the constitution, the ascent of the ruling class and the rise of the theocracy.

Perhaps one day history will look upon the criminal Bush administration for its infamous crowning achievement, turning the United States of America (formerly known as the land of the free and home of the brave) into a nation of quivering, quaking, craven cowards and flag waving leg pissers. A free floating dread is maintained by melding entertainment with propaganda as evident by the popular FOX series 24 where there is always a loose nuke or other WMD in the hands of Islamic extremists seeking to destroy the American way of life. Phantom menaces the like of the all powerul Al-Zarquawi plot to turn the Iraq charnel pit into a staging ground for a war against ‘democracy’ drawing ‘terrorists’ from across the middle east to wage jihad against U.S. forces (giving the right wing media another great canard: we are fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them here) and to pull off daring escapes the likes of which belong in cliffhanger action movies just as his imminent capture looms, and he is free to loose his malevolence another day. I am increasingly suspicious that the dreaded Al-Zarquawi does not even exist and is just another ficticious super villian created by pentagon propaganda mills bent on peddling their illicit war to tv nation as though it another season of 24.

These days people jump at shadows and see ‘terrorists’ seeking to destroy the holy sanctimony of the American way of life in every dark skinned person and facilitators of the enemy in every citizenwho dares to question the morality of Bush’s war or the fanatic zeal of his rubber stamp congress and bureaucrats who seek to repudiate over two hundred years of constitutional freedoms. These are freedoms that have been paid for on the installment plan by each generation whose young died in a foreign war, shedding their precious blood for ‘democracy’. Now for political expedience and the advancement of a fascist agenda the sacrifices of the brave ones are not only ignored but in an ultimate disgrace to their legacy, are cynically used by those usurpers of democracy who cower behind the stars and stripes and use bill of rights as a shield from which to launch attacks on others seeking to utilize their own civil liberties by standing up to the domestic terrorists in our own government and corporate America who relentlessly attack the patriotism of those questioniong any that are not a part of their particular militant status quo, be it the elitists at the top of the oligarchy, the Wall Street investment bankers, the insane, doomsday cult ‘christian’ fundamentalists or the corporate masters of energy and the military industrial complex.

Americans have for the most part been brainwashed by incessant nationalist propaganda distributed by a compliant state controlled media, rendered ignorant by those seeking to misrepresent our national history and heritage, pitted against each other so the uber-capitalists and free market fanatics can continue to wage relentless class warfare against the working people through the exportation of our jobs to low cost third world cesspools for the maximization of shareholder wealth, mortgage the future of our children by amassing unprecedented levels of foreign debt, money that will one day have to be paid back at a time when the scoundrels who have used abortion and gay marriage as a ruse to dupe people into putting their children to bed cold and hungry in order to empower those who would seek to further lay waste to the prosperity for all that was at one time, not long ago an American birthright. These people have crippled what was once the American Dream, a concept that is now on life support, they are coming to pull the plug now, hiding under the guise of phantoms and seeking to exploit FEAR in order to finish the job.

Nothing is a more useful tool than fear. Fear will distract the American sheeple from both the increasingly unpopular move to defraud the public on our nation’s longtime, successful retirement programs as well as from the news that Video News Releases (VNR’s) which are slickly produced pieces of advocacy ads produced by public relations firms that resemble actual news broadcasts are being utilized with increasing frequency by the criminally dishonest Bush administration in foisting their radical agenda off on a terrified and dumbed down public and that the usage of these slick infomercials have been decried by the GAO (Government Accounting Office) as the misuse of taxpayer dollars to fund illicit propaganda which is prohibited. If Tom Ridge’s kindergarten level homeland security color threat level chart were still in use it would likely be blinking red today.

Goering was right. It is our national shame that the GOP party strategists are so cynical and ruthlessly calculating that they freely use the techiques of his Nazi regime’s playbook and nothing is more shameful than a populace that is so ignorant of history and terrifed of the present that they allow it to happen.
